  • Delhi Police receives PCR call from Maliwal alleging assault by Kejriwal's aide.
  • BJP condemns incident, questions Kejriwal's ability to protect Delhi women.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal instigated the assault of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal at the CM's residence.

According to the BJP, Maliwal, who is also a former chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), was assaulted by a personal assistant to Kejriwal. BJP leader Bansuri Swaraj condemned the incident and asked Kejriwal how he would protect Delhi's women if his own party MP wasn't safe in his presence.

Maliwal has reportedly made a PCR call to the Delhi Police alleging that she was assaulted by Kejriwal's personal assistant, Bibhav Kumar. The Delhi Police has confirmed receiving the PCR call and has visited the CM's residence in response to Maliwal's complaint.

The incident is another setback for Kejriwal, who is out on interim bail in connection with the liquor policy case. The Supreme Court recently allowed Kejriwal to campaign in the Lok Sabha election 2024.

The BJP's allegations have been met with strong condemnation from the AAP, which has accused the BJP of trying to divert attention from the real issues facing Delhi. The AAP has also demanded that the BJP provide evidence to support its claims.

The Delhi Police is currently investigating the incident and has not yet filed any charges against anyone. The outcome of the investigation is likely to have a significant impact on the political landscape of Delhi.
