The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the results for the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2025. Candidates who participated in the examination can now access their scores and download their results from the official NTA website at cuet.nta.nic.in. The CUET UG 2025 examination, a crucial gateway for undergraduate admissions to various universities across India, was conducted over a period of 19 days, spanning from May 13 to June 4, and was administered in a total of 35 shifts. The declaration of results marks a significant milestone for both the NTA and the numerous students who have been eagerly awaiting their performance evaluations. The CUET UG serves as a standardized test designed to streamline the admission process for undergraduate programs, providing a uniform platform for evaluating candidates based on their aptitude and knowledge across a range of subjects. Instead of announcing traditional toppers, the NTA has adopted a novel approach by listing the application numbers of candidates who achieved the highest NTA scores in five specific subjects. This departure from conventional ranking systems underscores the NTA's commitment to highlighting excellence across a diverse range of academic disciplines. The NTA has emphasized that the results of all candidates are currently being shared with the respective universities and institutions. This seamless data transfer facilitates the admission process, enabling universities to efficiently access and analyze the performance of individual applicants. The NTA has also advised candidates to maintain close communication with the universities and institutions to which they have applied, ensuring that they are well-informed about further details regarding admission procedures, counseling schedules, and other relevant information. The data released by the NTA reveals a noteworthy distribution of high scores among the candidates. Notably, only one candidate has managed to achieve a perfect 100 percentile score in four out of the five subjects that they opted for. This exceptional achievement underscores the candidate's remarkable academic proficiency and dedication. In addition, a total of 17 candidates have attained 100 percentile scores in three subjects out of their chosen fields of study. These individuals have demonstrated a strong grasp of their subjects and an exceptional ability to perform under pressure. The number of students who have secured 100 percentile scores in two and one subject stands at 150 and 2,679, respectively. These figures highlight the overall competitiveness of the CUET UG examination and the high caliber of students who participate in it. The distribution of high scores across various subjects suggests that students are excelling in diverse fields of study, reflecting the breadth and depth of the undergraduate programs offered by universities across the country. The CUET UG 2025 examination encompassed a comprehensive range of subjects, including 13 languages, 23 domain-specific subjects, and a General Aptitude Test. This diverse array of subjects provides candidates with the opportunity to showcase their strengths and interests across various academic disciplines. Candidates were allowed to choose up to a maximum of five subjects, including languages and the General Aptitude Test, allowing them to tailor their examination to their specific academic goals and preferences. A total of 322 unique question papers were created for the CUET UG 2025 examination, resulting in 1,059 total question papers when accounting for the 13 languages. This extensive collection of question papers ensured that candidates were assessed on a wide range of topics and concepts, providing a comprehensive evaluation of their knowledge and skills. This year, the examination included a total of 57,940 questions, reflecting the scale and complexity of the CUET UG examination. In comparison, the number of unique question papers in the previous year was only 99, highlighting the significant expansion of the examination's scope and coverage.
The NTA had previously released the final answer keys for the CUET UG examination on July 1, providing candidates with a valuable resource to review their performance and estimate their scores. Prior to the release of the final answer keys, the provisional CUET UG answer keys were issued on June 17, allowing candidates to raise grievances and challenge potentially incorrect or ambiguous questions. This process ensures that the final results are as accurate and fair as possible, reflecting the NTA's commitment to transparency and accountability. As many as 13,54,699 applicants registered for the CUET UG 2025 examination, demonstrating the widespread popularity and importance of this entrance test. Out of the total registered candidates, 6,47,934 were female, while 7,06,760 were male candidates, and five were third gender individuals. This demographic distribution reflects the diverse representation of students from various backgrounds and genders who aspire to pursue undergraduate studies in India. Of the total candidates who registered, as many as 10,71,735 appeared for the examination, indicating a high turnout rate. This participation rate underscores the significance of the CUET UG as a gateway to higher education and the determination of students to secure admission to their desired undergraduate programs. The gender distribution of the candidates who appeared for the examination was as follows: 5,23,988 female candidates, 5,47,744 male candidates, and three third gender students. In the previous year, a total of 13,47,618 students registered for the CUET UG examination. Out of these, 7.17 lakh were male candidates, 6.30 lakh were female candidates, and seven were transgender students. These figures provide a historical perspective on the CUET UG examination and highlight the increasing participation of students from diverse backgrounds over time. The CUET UG 2025 examination was conducted in 300 cities, including 15 cities outside India. This extensive network of examination centers ensures that students from all corners of the country and abroad have convenient access to the test. In comparison, the CUET UG examination in the previous year was conducted in 379 cities, including 26 cities outside India. This reduction in the number of cities may reflect logistical adjustments or changes in the distribution of candidates. In the previous year, as many as 283 universities admitted students to their UG programs based on CUET UG scores. However, this year, the number of universities using CUET UG scores for undergraduate admissions has decreased to 239. This shift may indicate a change in the admission policies of some universities or the adoption of alternative admission criteria. The CUET UG continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of undergraduate admissions in India, and the NTA remains committed to ensuring its fairness, transparency, and effectiveness.
