Aspiring students are required to register on the CSAS portal and pay a nominal fee of Rs 250 for the general category or Rs 100 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. Upon successful registration, candidates can proceed to fill in their preferences for colleges and specific academic programs offered by the university. This preference-filling phase is crucial, as it allows students to indicate their top choices and rank them in order of their preference. DU's admission process represents a paradigm shift from the traditional reliance on Class 12 board percentages. In the past, board marks played a significant role in determining admission eligibility. However, with the introduction of CUET, admissions are now primarily based on CUET UG scores, with board marks being relegated to the role of tiebreakers in certain exceptional cases. This new approach aims to create a level playing field for students from diverse educational backgrounds and reduce the undue emphasis on board examinations. DU's admission process follows a structured and phased approach, encompassing choice filling, merit list publication, seat allotment, and document verification. Instead, it operates its own unique online counselling process, which candidates must navigate to secure admission. While JNU has not yet released a detailed admission schedule, prospective students can anticipate the commencement of admissions in mid to late July. This timeframe is crucial for candidates to prepare all the necessary documents and stay informed about the university's official announcements. Applicants to JNU are required to upload or submit a comprehensive set of documents, including their CUET application form, admit card, 10 and 12 mark sheets, a valid photo ID, and caste or disability certificates (if applicable). These documents are essential for verifying the candidate's eligibility and ensuring a fair and transparent admission process. JNU's BA (Hons) programs in foreign languages, such as French, German, Spanish, and Russian, remain exceptionally popular among students seeking a global perspective. These programs require specialized knowledge and skills, and the existing entrance exams are deemed more suitable for assessing candidates' aptitude in these fields. For CUET-based courses, Jamia Millia Islamia will conduct online counselling based on merit lists derived from NTA's result data. This online counselling process will involve several stages, including registration, document verification, and seat allocation. According to the subject-wise registration data, the number of candidates registered and appeared with the highest NTA scores (up to two decimal places) in CUET (UG) – 2025 are as follows: In English (subject code 101), there were 1,075,452 registered candidates, with 814,640 appearing, and the highest NTA score recorded was 241.96. For Hindi (subject code 102), 154,087 candidates registered, 121,004 appeared, and the highest NTA score was 238.06. In Assamese (subject code 103), 2,610 candidates registered, with 1,129 appearing, and the highest NTA score was 220.00. Lastly, in Bengali (subject code 104), there were 6,291 registered candidates, 1,796 of whom appeared, and the highest NTA score was 244.00.
