Delhi Water Pollution: AAP MP Accuses Govt
  • AAP MP Swati Maliwal claims Delhi's water is polluted.
  • Maliwal brought black water to Atishi's residence.
  • She gave a 15-day ultimatum to fix the issue.

The ongoing crisis in Delhi's air quality has taken a new turn, as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal has now alleged that water pollution is equally concerning. In a dramatic display, Maliwal presented a bottle of what she claimed to be polluted water collected from a house in Sagarpur, where the government has been supplying water. She delivered this “black” water to the doorstep of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, demanding immediate action.

Maliwal's action is a direct escalation of the already strained relationship between the AAP and the Delhi government. She stated that she was invited by a family in Sagarpur to inspect the water quality and was shocked to find it heavily polluted. This incident has triggered a wave of public concern about the safety of Delhi's water supply, further complicating the ongoing environmental crisis in the capital.

Adding fuel to the fire, Maliwal questioned the government's promises of providing RO water to every household. She criticized the government's lack of action in addressing the water pollution crisis, stating that this is not the Diwali gift the people of Delhi deserved. The Yamuna River, a lifeline for Delhi, continues to be severely polluted, with toxic foam floating on its surface, illustrating the gravity of the situation.

The Chief Minister's response to Maliwal's ultimatum remains to be seen. This incident highlights the growing discontent among the residents of Delhi concerning the deteriorating environmental conditions. The political tension surrounding this issue could potentially escalate further, with the AAP demanding swift action from the government.
