The Deepotsav celebrations in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, witnessed a breathtaking spectacle of light and culture as over 25 lakh earthen lamps were lit simultaneously, setting a new world record. This grand event, held on the banks of the sacred Sarayu river, transformed the city into a luminous sea of golden light, creating an unforgettable visual experience. The organizers, aiming to illuminate at least 25 lakh diyas, exceeded their target by a significant margin, further solidifying the significance of this event.
Deepotsav, a celebration of the triumph of good over evil, served as a platform to showcase the spiritual, traditional, and cultural essence of Ayodhya. The event featured performances by talented artists from various countries including Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Indonesia, adding an international flavor to the celebrations. Artists from different Indian states also participated, enriching the cultural tapestry of the event.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, gracing the occasion with his presence, received the Deepotsav with an 'aarti' and participated in the festivities by pulling the chariot carrying artists performing the Ramayana. The event was also enriched by stunning tableaux crafted by Saket Mahavidyalaya, the Information Department, and the Tourism Department. These tableaux, depicting scenes from various chapters of Tulsidas's Ramcharitmanas, provided a visual narrative of the epic Ramayana, further deepening the spiritual significance of the event.
This year's Deepotsav held a special significance as it marked the first such celebration after the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram mandir in Ayodhya. The grandeur and divinity of the program were meticulously planned and executed, ensuring an unforgettable experience for the devotees and visitors alike. The event not only showcased the cultural richness of Ayodhya but also highlighted its historical and religious importance as the birthplace of Lord Rama.
