A disturbing incident in Satna district, Madhya Pradesh, has sparked outrage and prompted a police investigation. A video, which has gone viral on social media, captures the horrific act of several cows being thrown into a swollen river. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday under the Nagod police station limits, has resulted in the deaths of an estimated 15 to 20 cows, according to preliminary reports.
The video, which surfaced on Tuesday evening, shows the cows being thrown from a railway bridge near Bamhor into the Satna river. The police, upon receiving information about the video, immediately dispatched a team to the location and subsequently registered a case. Four individuals – Beta Bagri, Ravi Bagri, Rampal Choudhary, and Rajlu Choudhary – have been booked under the Madhya Pradesh Gauvansh Vadh Pratishedh Adhiniyam, which prohibits cow slaughter, as well as under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The police have confirmed that approximately 50 cows were involved in the incident, and a rescue operation is underway to determine the exact number of affected animals. The authorities are actively pursuing the investigation and searching for the accused individuals. The incident highlights the pressing issue of animal cruelty and the importance of enforcing laws aimed at protecting vulnerable creatures.
