Teen Votes 8 Times for BJP Candidate, Opposition Demands EC Action
  • Teen votes 8 times for BJP candidate on video.
  • Congress and Samajwadi Party seek EC action.
  • EC and local authorities haven't responded.

The Election Commission of India is facing demands for action after a video emerged showing a young man allegedly voting multiple times for a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows the individual casting his vote for BJP candidate Mukesh Rajput on an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) at a polling booth in Farrukhabad Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

The Congress and Samajwadi Party have both called on the Election Commission to take action in response to the video, with the Congress urging the poll body to "wake up" and address the issue.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also shared the video and sought action from the Election Commission, stating that if the Commission believes the actions depicted in the video are wrong, they should take necessary steps.

The Election Commission has not yet responded to the video, and neither have local authorities.

This incident follows a similar one earlier this month, where a video of a minor son of a BJP leader casting a vote at a polling booth in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal went viral, leading to criticism from the Congress.

The Congress had accused the BJP of reducing the Election Commission to a "child's plaything" and called for action against those involved.

The Election Commission has been facing criticism over alleged irregularities in the conduct of the Lok Sabha elections, and these incidents have further raised questions about the integrity of the electoral process.

It remains to be seen what action, if any, the Election Commission will take in response to these incidents.
