Shah Slams Congress, Shiv Sena for Vote Bank Politics
  • Union Minister Amit Shah criticized Congress, Shiv Sena, and NCP for vote bank politics.
  • Shah accused the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance of not attending the Ram temple consecration due to fear of losing votes.
  • He questioned the opposition alliance's choice of leadership and their ability to govern effectively.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and Sharad Pawar's NCP on Monday, accusing them of engaging in vote bank politics.

Addressing twin rallies in Maharashtra's Dhule and Palghar, Shah slammed the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance in the state over the Ram temple consecration ceremony.

Shah expressed his dismay that the leaders of the Congress, Shiv Sena, and NCP, including Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, and Supriya Sule, had declined invitations to attend the consecration ceremony.

He alleged that their absence was motivated by fear of losing their vote bank, particularly among Muslim voters.

Shah also took aim at Uddhav Thackeray, the former chief minister of Maharashtra, for his decision not to attend the consecration ceremony.

He questioned Thackeray's commitment to Hindutva and accused him of abandoning his ideology in pursuit of power.

Shah further criticized Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole for his vow to 'purify' the Ram temple if the Congress came to power.

He dismissed Patole's statement as absurd and disrespectful to Hindu beliefs.

Shah also attacked the 'India Alliance', a proposed coalition of opposition parties, questioning their choice of leadership and their ability to govern effectively.

He raised concerns about the lack of a clear prime ministerial candidate within the alliance and the potential for instability if the government were to be run in turns by different leaders.

Shah's remarks are likely to further escalate tensions between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition parties in Maharashtra and across the country.

They highlight the deep political divide in India and the importance of vote bank politics in shaping political strategies.
