The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) is scheduled to be conducted on May 5, 2024, by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Over 24 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the exam, which will be held in 557 cities across India and 14 cities abroad.
NEET UG is a highly competitive exam, with approximately one lakh MBBS seats available for over 24 lakh aspirants. The exam consists of three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Each section has 45 questions, for a total of 135 questions.
Candidates are required to download their hall ticket from the NTA website and bring it to the exam center along with a valid ID proof. The hall ticket will contain the candidate's photograph, signature, and roll number barcode. These details are crucial for identification and verification purposes during the examination.
Candidates should arrive at the exam center by 11:30 am. The last entry into the exam hall will be at 1:30 pm. No candidate will be allowed entry after this time.
Candidates are advised to dress casually and avoid clothes with long sleeves. Shoes are also prohibited. Henceforth, the candidates are advised to wear slippers or sandals. Aspirants wearing a customary dress are required to report to the examination center by 12:30 pm.
No bio-breaks will be allowed during the first one hour after the beginning of the exam and the last half an hour of the exam. Apart from the biometric attendance and frisking at entry, candidates will be frisked and biometric attendance will be taken again on entry from bio-break or toilets break.
The NTA has urged all the candidates taking the medical entrance test on May 5 to refrain from engaging in any form of unfair means or practices. The agency has also adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards malpractices and has introduced a series of robust measures to prevent any attempts to compromise the examination.
