A 20-year-old woman named Anjali Ambigera was stabbed to death in her home in Hubbali, Karnataka, on [date]. The accused, 21-year-old Girish Sawant, is on the run.
Sawant reportedly entered Anjali's home early in the morning and repeatedly stabbed her with a knife. She was sleeping at the time.
It is alleged that Sawant had been pestering Anjali to start a relationship with him, but she had refused. This is believed to have triggered the attack.
Hubbali-Dharwad police chief Gopal Byakod said the murder was reported in Veerapur Oni village. He said that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway to ascertain the motive behind the incident. A team has been formed to apprehend the perpetrator.
This is the second such incident in Hubbali in less than a month. On [date], 23-year-old Neha Hiremath was stabbed to death on a college campus by her former classmate, Fayaz Khondunaik.
During interrogation, Khondunaik told police that he was in a relationship with Neha, but she had suddenly started avoiding him. He stabbed her multiple times on the campus. She was rushed to a hospital, but was declared dead.
These incidents have raised concerns about the safety of women in Hubbali. Police have urged women to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
