Assault Charge Probe: Swati Maliwal Taken to Kejriwal's Home
  • Swati Maliwal taken to Kejriwal's home for crime scene recreation.
  • Police investigation intensified with forensic team, witness statements, and CCTV footage.
  • BJP escalates attack on Kejriwal and AAP over assault allegations.

The controversy surrounding Swati Maliwal's allegations against Arvind Kejriwal's aide, Bibhav Kumar, escalated further on Friday as a police team took the AAP MP to the Delhi Chief Minister's residence for crime scene recreation.

The police investigation has intensified, with a forensic team collecting evidence, recording witness statements, and obtaining CCTV footage from the alleged assault scene in Kejriwal's house. The team was led by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Anjitha Chepyala.

The BJP has seized the opportunity to launch a scathing attack on Kejriwal and the AAP, accusing them of being 'anti-women' and demanding action over the assault allegations. The party's national spokesperson Sambit Patra has called on Kejriwal to expel Kumar from the party and has questioned why the Chief Minister is continuing to associate with him.

Meanwhile, the AAP has defended Kejriwal, saying that he has ordered a fair investigation into the matter. The party has also accused the BJP of orchestrating a political vendetta against Kejriwal and the AAP, and has claimed that the assault allegations are politically motivated.

The incident has occurred just days before the Delhi Lok Sabha election, and is likely to further intensify the political battle between the AAP and the BJP. The outcome of the police investigation and the public reaction to the allegations will be closely watched.

The AAP is also facing trouble in the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has named the AAP as an accused in the case, alleging that the party manipulated the liquor excise policy to get bribes of Rs 100 crore. The ED has claimed that this money was then used to fund poll campaigns.

The AAP and Kejriwal have denied all charges in the liquor policy row, and have accused the BJP of orchestrating a 'political vendetta' to defame them during the election.

Kejriwal is currently on interim bail in the liquor policy case and must return to jail by June 2.

The investigation into the assault allegations and the liquor policy case are ongoing, and it remains to be seen how these developments will affect the AAP's electoral prospects in the Delhi Lok Sabha election.
