Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking in Ahmedabad, asserted that Operation Sindoor successfully dismantled terrorist infrastructure within Pakistan. He emphasized that this operation exposed Pakistan's consistent denial of harboring terrorism. A key aspect of his statement was the claim that Pakistan's air defense system, procured from China, remained inactive while India's indigenously developed BrahMos supersonic cruise missile effectively destroyed Pakistani airbases. This highlights a perceived technological and strategic advantage for India in the region. Shah detailed that Indian armed forces ventured 100 kilometers into Pakistani territory as a direct response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which tragically claimed the lives of 26 individuals. The operation, according to Shah, was successful in obliterating terrorist hubs located both within Pakistan and in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He further claimed that the Indian Air Force executed precise attacks on locations previously considered to be impenetrable. Shah underscored the significance of Operation Sindoor, predicting that it would be remembered as a pivotal moment in the history of border security. He drew a distinction between Operation Sindoor and previous surgical strikes and airstrikes, stating that the earlier operations were primarily limited to PoK, while Operation Sindoor deliberately targeted deeper areas within Pakistani territory. A central point of Shah's address was the assertion that Pakistan was globally exposed when Indian missiles eliminated terrorists whom Pakistan had claimed did not exist on its soil. According to Shah, the evidence of Pakistan's involvement was irrefutable, citing that following the elimination of these terrorists, senior officers of the Pakistani army attended their funerals and offered prayers, thereby revealing what he described as a direct link between Pakistan, its army, and the support of terrorism. Amit Shah attributed the success of Operation Sindoor to the "strong political will" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, coupled with military precision and accurate intelligence. He added that the government has conveyed a clear message to Pakistan: that terrorism and trade cannot coexist. Quoting Modi, he emphasized that "Indus and blood will not flow together," indicating that continued support for terrorism will preclude any possibility of normal trade relations between the two nations. These claims were made amidst heightened tensions between the two countries. The accuracy and comprehensiveness of Pakistan's air defense system are continually debated, and many sources state that the Pakistani Air Force and military do not rely primarily or exclusively on Chinese defense systems and have an extensive and complex network of air defense technologies and protocols in place.
