The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has announced the final results of the 2023 Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) for the Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS). The results were released on the official JKPSC website, jkpsc.nic.in, on October 31, 2024. A total of 266 candidates have been selected for the KAS, with 11 results pending due to ongoing legal actions. The successful candidates will now be required to undergo a comprehensive medical examination, a crucial step in the selection process.
The selection process for the KAS involves a rigorous multi-stage examination. It begins with a preliminary exam, a screening test designed to assess candidates' aptitude and general knowledge. Those who clear the preliminary exam progress to the main exam, which includes written tests covering a wide range of subjects. The main exam is followed by a personality test or interview, where shortlisted candidates are evaluated on their communication skills, personality, and suitability for administrative positions. The final results are then determined by combining the scores from the main exam and the interview.
Following the completion of the medical examination, the final merit list will be created based on the combined scores from the Mains Exam and the Interview/Personality Test. The government will subsequently issue appointment letters to the selected candidates. Successful candidates must pay the required fee before the medical examination. The medical examination will be conducted at designated medical facilities in Srinagar or Jammu for those who meet the final selection criteria.
The release of the JKPSC KAS results is a significant milestone for aspiring administrative officers in Jammu and Kashmir. The results signify the culmination of years of dedicated preparation and hard work. The successful candidates will now embark on a new chapter in their careers, ready to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir in administrative roles.
