The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has officially released the final results for the 2023 Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) for the Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS). The results are now available on the JKPSC's official website, jkpsc.nic.in, for all candidates who participated in the personality test held between October 21 and 29, 2024. Out of the numerous applicants, 266 candidates have been selected for the KAS, with 11 results still pending due to ongoing legal proceedings. It is important to note that the published list is subject to change based on the outcome of these legal actions.

The selection process for the KAS involves a rigorous multi-stage procedure designed to assess candidates' suitability for administrative positions. The initial stage is the Preliminary Examination, a screening test that evaluates general knowledge and aptitude. Candidates who clear this hurdle then move on to the Main Exam, which consists of written tests covering a wide range of subjects. The performance in these written tests is crucial as they contribute significantly to the final score.

Following the Main Exam, shortlisted candidates are invited to participate in a Personality Test or Interview. This face-to-face interaction serves as a platform to assess their communication skills, personality traits, and overall suitability for administrative roles. The scores from the Main Exam and the Interview are combined to determine the final results. The successful candidates are then required to undergo a comprehensive medical examination conducted by a government-appointed board of medical specialists. This medical examination is a mandatory step in the selection process, ensuring that candidates meet the physical fitness requirements for the KAS.

The selection process culminates in the creation of a final merit list based on the combined scores from the Mains Exam and the Interview/Personality Test. Following the medical examination, appointment letters will be issued to the chosen candidates. Before participating in the medical examination, successful applicants are required to pay the prescribed fee. These medical examinations are scheduled to be held at designated medical facilities in Srinagar or Jammu for those who meet the final selection criteria.
