The Odisha government's Subhadra Yojana, a flagship initiative aimed at providing financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries, is set to launch on September 17th. This scheme, a key component of the BJP government's social welfare agenda, will offer Rs 50,000 in assistance to individuals between the ages of 21 and 60, distributed in ten installments of Rs 5,000 each. The program is designed to address economic needs and empower individuals within this age group.
In a move aimed at ensuring smooth implementation and transparency, the government conducted a trial run on Sunday by sending Re 1 to the accounts of potential beneficiaries. This step served as a verification process, checking the accuracy of bank details and facilitating the efficient disbursement of funds. However, some beneficiaries did not receive the Re 1 credit, raising concerns about potential exclusion.
Addressing these concerns, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida provided reassurance, stating that all eligible individuals will receive the first installment of the Subhadra Yojana on September 17th. This includes those who did not receive the Re 1 during the verification process. Parida emphasized that the absence of the Re 1 credit will not hinder the disbursement of the scheme's benefits, and all eligible individuals will be included. Furthermore, she clarified that even those who apply after September 17th, including those residing outside of Odisha, will be eligible for the scheme.
The Deputy Chief Minister also issued a cautionary message to potential beneficiaries, advising them to be vigilant against cyber fraudsters. These fraudsters have been known to send suspicious links related to Subhadra registration, attempting to deceive individuals and gain access to their personal information. Parida stressed the importance of remaining cautious and verifying all information before engaging with any communication related to the scheme.
