Anantapur Superintendent of Police (SP) P. Jagadeesh has joined the rescue and relief operations in the flood-affected areas, demonstrating the collaborative spirit and dedication to the well-being of citizens during times of crisis.
Following directives from the Director General of Police (DGP) Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, the SP has been stationed in Vijayawada for the past two days, actively overseeing the relief efforts. The focus of these operations has been on providing essential food and drinking water to individuals stranded by the floods, ensuring their basic survival needs are met. The NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), SDRF (State Disaster Response Force), and Greyhounds teams have been working tirelessly in unison, demonstrating the coordinated approach that is essential for effective disaster management.
In addition to providing essential supplies, the rescue teams have been actively engaged in rescuing individuals trapped in inundated homes. These individuals are then being safely transported to rehabilitation centers where they receive shelter, food, and medical care as needed. The rescue teams have been deployed to various areas within the Vijayawada corporation limits, including Ajit Singh Nagar, Bhagat Singh Nagar, Bombay Nagar, Rajiv Colony, and Prakash Nagar, signifying the widespread impact of the floods.
Round-the-clock relief efforts are also underway in Huda Colony, Thotavari Street, PNT Colony, and Bharat Mata Colony. To ensure efficient distribution of aid, NDRF and SDRF boats have been strategically deployed to reach the inundated areas. These boats are carrying food and drinking water bottles, facilitating access to vital resources for those affected by the floods. The SP has indicated that additional police forces from Anantapur district will be deployed to Vijayawada to bolster the relief operations, underscoring the ongoing commitment to assisting the flood-affected population.
