Delhi University (DU) has announced the schedule for the third phase of admissions to its undergraduate programs, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing admissions process. The university has successfully completed the second phase of admissions, exceeding the initial capacity with 75,083 students securing admission out of 71,600 available seats. This achievement underscores DU's commitment to ensuring all eligible students have the opportunity to pursue higher education.
The third phase of admissions will be conducted through a performance-based approach, incorporating supernumerary quotas and extracurricular activities. This strategy allows the university to accommodate diverse talents and achievements beyond academic merit. The inclusion of sports and other extracurricular accomplishments provides a platform for students to demonstrate their holistic development and contribute to the vibrant university community.
The upgrade window for students from the previous two phases will open on August 31, giving them the chance to improve their chances of securing admission to their preferred courses or colleges. This window provides a level of flexibility and allows students to refine their choices based on their individual aspirations and academic priorities. The university is committed to ensuring a fair and transparent admissions process, and this upgrade window reflects this commitment.
The first round of admissions for the third phase will commence on September 3, with students required to accept their allocations by September 4. The deadline for fee submission is September 6. The meticulous planning and swift execution of the admissions process demonstrate DU's dedication to maintaining the academic calendar despite initial delays. This proactive approach ensures a smooth transition into the new academic year and allows students to begin their university journey with minimal disruption.
