The political landscape in Delhi has taken a sharp turn with Atishi, a cabinet minister and prominent leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), leveling serious accusations against the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Atishi claims that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a key political rival of the AAP, has been employing the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) as tools to orchestrate a political vendetta against Delhi's Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal. This alleged scheme, according to Atishi, involves using these investigative agencies to tarnish Kejriwal's image and potentially derail his political ambitions.
The heart of Atishi's accusations lies in a recent affidavit submitted by the CBI to the Supreme Court. She claims that the affidavit contained false information designed to undermine Kejriwal's position in a case involving the ED. Atishi asserts that the BJP's true objective was to prevent Kejriwal from receiving bail in the ED case, thereby disrupting his political activities and potentially weakening his leadership within the AAP. The allegation of a fabricated affidavit raises serious concerns about the integrity of the CBI and the potential for political influence to compromise investigative processes.
Adding further fuel to the fire, Atishi has also accused the CBI of a blatant attempt to manipulate public opinion. She alleges that the CBI leaked the contents of the affidavit to the media before it was even presented to the Supreme Court. This alleged leak, Atishi claims, was a deliberate move to paint a negative picture of Kejriwal in the public eye and further the BJP's political agenda. The allegations of leaked documents and a coordinated media campaign are serious accusations that demand thorough investigation and scrutiny.
