The Andhra Pradesh government has taken proactive measures to address the challenges posed by heavy rains and subsequent floods in the state by establishing a Central Command Control (CCC) Room. This initiative aims to streamline the monitoring and coordination of rescue and relief operations undertaken by various departments across affected regions.
The CCC Room, situated at Kunchanapalli in Guntur district, is under the supervision of a committee comprised of senior officers from the State Disaster Management Authority. This committee is responsible for overseeing the entire rescue and relief effort, ensuring efficient communication and resource allocation.
A dedicated 19-member committee, led by Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) G. Jayalakshmi, is tasked with coordinating the response to the crisis. The committee includes key figures such as the Director of Disaster Management, Joint Secretary (in the office of CCLA), Director of Survey Settlements & Land Records, Director of Municipal Administration, and Commissioner of Panchayat Raj & Rural Development.
In addition to the CCC Room, the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) control room has been activated to provide real-time monitoring of the situation. Headed by the Secretary (School Education) and the Special Secretary of the Information Technology, Electronics & Communications Department, the RTGS control room is responsible for analyzing data from 14,700 CCTV surveillance cameras, drone cameras, and other available sources.
The RTGS control room serves as a vital communication hub, coordinating information flow between the CCC Room, district control rooms, and other relevant agencies. This integrated approach ensures that all stakeholders have access to the latest updates and are able to respond effectively to the evolving situation.
The establishment of these control rooms demonstrates the Andhra Pradesh government's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens during periods of natural disaster. By effectively coordinating resources and monitoring the situation, the government aims to minimize the impact of heavy rains and floods, and provide timely assistance to those affected.
