The entertainment industry in India has been rocked by a recent controversy involving actor Siddique and junior artist Revathy Sampath. Siddique, a prominent figure in Malayalam cinema, has filed a police complaint against Sampath for alleging sexual assault against him. The actor, who is currently in Ooty, reportedly filed the complaint via email to the Director General of Police (DGP), denying the allegations and claiming that they are part of a larger agenda.

In his complaint, Siddique stated that he met Sampath in the presence of her parents and refuted her claims of sexual assault. He highlighted the fact that Sampath raised allegations in 2019, three years after the alleged incident, and that her initial accusations involved offensive language before escalating to sexual assault. He also argued that the timing of her accusations coincides with the release of the Hema Committee report, which investigates sexual harassment in the Malayalam film industry. Siddique labelled Sampath's accusations as a publicity stunt.

Sampath's accusations are serious and paint a different picture. She alleges that Siddique sexually assaulted her at a hotel after a preview show of his movie in 2016. She further described him as a criminal who has shattered the dreams of many aspiring actresses in the industry. The accusations have sparked a debate on the prevalence of sexual harassment within the industry and the need for stronger measures to protect women from exploitation. This case highlights the importance of due process and the need for thorough investigation to ensure justice for both the accuser and the accused.
