A new controversy has emerged between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal over the Sandeshkhali incident. TMC alleges the BJP fabricated the case to damage its reputation before the Lok Sabha election.
TMC released a video featuring Sandeshkhali Block-II BJP Mandal President Gangadhar Koyal, who allegedly stated that they acted on the instructions of Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari to convince Trinamool members to participate in the incident.
The Sandeshkhali case involves a CBI investigation against TMC leader Shajahan Sheikh for alleged atrocities against women from tribal and Dalit communities. Sheikh is currently in custody for an attack on an ED team during a raid related to an alleged ration scam.
In response, BJP Mandal president Gangadhar Kayl claims the video is AI-generated and has filed a complaint with the CBI. Suvendu Adhikari has also dismissed the video as fake and accused TMC of trying to defame BJP.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has criticized BJP and questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on allegations against Governor C V Ananda Bose. She claims the Sandeshkhali incidents were pre-planned and the truth has been exposed.
The Sandeshkhali row has escalated political tensions in West Bengal and raised questions about the authenticity of the sting video. The CBI is investigating the matter, and further developments are expected.
