Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “playing jail khel”, announced that he, along with AAP leaders, MPs and MLAs will march towards BJP headquarters on Sunday at noon.
This announcement came a few hours after his personal secretary Bibhav Kumar was arrested in the Swati Maliwal assault case.
In her complaint to the police, Maliwal had alleged Kumar attacked her at Kejriwal’s residence on May 14 with “full force, slapping and kicking her in the chest and abdomen.”
Kejriwal, while addressing a media briefing, said, “You can see how they are after AAP…I would like to tell the Prime Minister – you are playing this ‘jail ka khel’…Tomorrow, I am coming to the BJP HQ with all my top leaders, MLAs, MPs at 12 noon.
You can put in jail whoever you want…”
Delhi BJP chief Virendraa Sachdev slammed the AAP national convenor over the “jail bharo drama” and questioned his silence for six days after a woman MP was beaten up at his residence.
Sachdev said, “Stop doing this drama.
We are asking you just one thing – you did not break your silence even 6 days after your woman MP was beaten up at your residence…Tell us who is responsible for the misbehaviour with the woman MP.
Why have you not broken your silence over it?”
Kumar filed an anticipatory bail plea in Delhi’s Tis Hazari court, which later became infructuous as he had already been arrested by the time the hearing concluded.
