After Delhi, Gujarat and Jaipur, schools in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh have also received bomb threats via emails, creating a panic situation among the students, parents and school authorities.
However, the police have termed all the threats as 'hoaxes' after conducting thorough searches in and around the schools.
Over the last few weeks, several schools in various parts of the country, including Bengaluru and Delhi-NCR, have received bomb threat emails.
The police have requested all parents not to panic, and have assured that they are taking all necessary precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the students.
The police have also launched an investigation into the matter and are trying to ascertain if there is any pattern between the hoax bomb threats received by schools in different cities across the country.
Similar hoax bomb threats were received by over 100 schools in Delhi on May 1, 2023, and by four hospitals in Delhi on May 14, 2023.
The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport also received a threat email on May 11, 2023, but nothing suspicious was found during the search operation conducted by the security agencies.
The police are investigating all the cases and are trying to trace the source of the threat emails.
They have also advised the schools to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.
The police have also urged the public not to spread rumors or panic, and to rely only on official sources for information.
