Fire Incident at Delhi ITO Claims One Life
A tragic fire incident occurred at the Central Revenue Building in Delhi's ITO area on Tuesday, resulting in the unfortunate death of a 46-year-old office superintendent. The victim, who worked in the building, was among the seven individuals rescued from the blaze.
Firefighters from 21 fire tenders rushed to the scene after receiving a call at 3:07 pm. The building, located opposite the old Police Headquarters, was evacuated as firefighters battled to contain the flames. Videos circulating on social media showed occupants seeking refuge on window ledges to escape the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with authorities yet to determine the origin and circumstances that led to the incident. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) chief, Atul Garg, confirmed that the process of extinguishing the flames was ongoing and that further investigation would be conducted to ascertain the exact cause.
This fire incident follows a similar tragedy in Delhi's Bawana area on Sunday, where a blast and fire at a chemical factory left seven people injured, three of whom were in critical condition. Preliminary investigations suggest that a spark from a short circuit may have ignited the chemicals stored at the factory, leading to the explosion and fire.
As the situation at the ITO fire continues to develop, authorities are urged to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause and prevent similar incidents in the future. The safety and well-being of citizens must remain a top priority, and measures must be implemented to minimize the risks and consequences of such unfortunate events.
