A heart-stopping helicopter landing incident occurred early Friday morning near the helipad at the Kedarnath temple in Uttarakhand. The aircraft, carrying seven people including pilgrims, experienced a technical issue with its rear motor, prompting the pilot to make an emergency landing just meters from the helipad.
According to preliminary reports, the pilot's quick thinking and composure prevented a potentially serious accident. District magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar stated, "It developed a technical snag in its rear motor, prompting the pilot to make an emergency landing a few metres from the helipad in Kedarnath." " All passengers, including the pilot, are reported to be safe and unharmed.
The helicopter had departed from the Sirsi helipad earlier that morning, with the incident occurring around 7 am. The pilgrims were able to complete their "darshan" at the temple before returning safely. Authorities are currently conducting further investigations into the incident.
